This magnificent new vessel will unload 380,000 tonnes of iron ore at EMO, eventually intended for the German steel industry. At 362 metres long and 65 metres at the beam, and with a draft of 23 metres, the Vale Italia is one of the largest dry bulk vessels in the world. As from today EMO is proud to present the new sea going vessel loader. This new loader has been realized on a new quay at the Mississippi harbour. The loader can slew, luff, shuttle and long travel, it can load barges as well as Panamax vessels with coal or iron ore at 6.000 tonnes per hour. The loader is equipped with high-tech safety features such as a state of the art collision protection system. The new Sea going vessel loader has arrived at our terminal. This new loader will be built along the Mississippi harbour because of the widening of the Amazone harbour. It will replace the current one and is expected to be operational in the second half of 2012.
