EMO is the largest storage and transhipment terminal for coal and iron ore in Europe. Since 1973, the company has been located at Maasvlakte, Rotterdam. EMO has a discharge capacity of 42 million tonnes a year. The terminal has an average unloading capacity of 140,000 tonnes a day. A 47 km long conveyor belt system runs through the entire terminal.
